Want to know the training techniques of legendary athlete Eric Heiden? What he ate? How he scheduled his training to peak at the perfect time to realize his athletic dreams? The vitamin he swears by? How he motivated himself?

Learn the approach to exercise and training that Heiden embodied, as the child of a physician, as an Olympic speedskater with a cutting-edge coach, then as a Tour de France cyclist working with Massimo Testa, MD, to bring an American cycling team to the world stage for the first time, and today as a physician himself, advising other athletes -- professional, Olympic and amateur.

This book also provides Heiden and Testa's advice on:

  • how to pick the right sport for your body
  • how to select gear to avoid injuries for walking, running, cycling, golf, weight lifting and exercise-on-the-go
  • how to treat exercise aches, pains and injuries if they do happen

"Faster, Better, Stronger" gives tips for saving exercise time and money by giving readers the way to train that most efficiently and effectively spurs improvement. It evens tells you how to decide if other exercise programs and books will work.

Eric Heiden competes in 1986 Tour de France.
